Words To Live By

"Love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength."

—Deuteronomy 6:5

  • What We Believe:

  • The Scriptures

We believe in the authority and sufficiency of the Holy Bible, consisting of the 66 books of the Old and New Testaments; that it was verbally and totally inspired by God and is the product of Spirit-controlled men. Therefore, we believe the Bible is infallible and inerrant in all matters of which it speaks.

  • The True God

We believe there is only one living and true God; that in the unity of the Godhead there are three persons, the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, equal in divine perfection and executing distinct but harmonious offices in the great work of redemption.

  • The Lord Jesus Christ

We believe in the pre-existence, incarnation and virgin birth of the Lord Jesus Christ; that Jesus Christ was the Creator of all things; that in the incarnate Christ dwelt all the fullness of the Godhead bodily, and that He was completely God and completely Man. We further believe in His sinless life, His miracles, His vicarious and atoning death, His bodily resurrection, His bodily ascension into heaven, and His imminent return. We acknowledge Jesus Christ as Lord over all things in heaven, and in earth, and under the earth.

  • The Holy Spirit

We believe that the Holy Spirit is a divine person, equal with God the Father and God the Son; that He was sent to the church on the day of Pentecost, and that He dwells in every believer. We also believe He unites all believers to Christ in one body; that He restrains the work of Satan until God's purposes are fulfilled; that He convicts the world regarding sin, righteousness and judgment; and that He seals believers unto the day of redemption. We believe the Holy Spirit continually fills with power for service those believers who are yielded to Him and to His will. We also believe that the fruit of the Spirit is the manifestation of the character of Jesus Christ in the believer's life.

  • Creation

We believe that God in His sovereignty created the world out of nothing. We further believe that man was created in the image of God by a direct and immediate act of God.

  • Nature of Man

We believe that man, being created in innocence in the image and likeness of God, voluntarily sinned against God and fell from a state of righteousness and holiness into total spiritual depravity. Thus man is separated from God and is unable to regain right-standing with God by his own efforts. Mankind must be redeemed solely by the work of Jesus Christ on the cross.

  • Salvation

We believe that salvation is a free gift that is offered by God to sinful man. We believe that God so loved mankind that He sent His only Son into the world to die on the cross as a substitute for us and a sacifice for our sin. We believe that no one can enter the Kingdom of God unless he is born-again of the Spirit. Spiritual birth occurs when a person hears and believes the message of Jesus Christ. Thus we believe that our redemption has been solely accomplished by the shed blood of Jesus on the cross and by His glorious resurrection from the dead.

  • Water Baptism

We believe that Christ commanded the church to baptize every person who puts his faith in Jesus Christ and makes a conscious decision to become Jesus' disciple. We believe that water baptism is for believers only, not infants, and should be administered by immersion in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit by the authority of the Lord Jesus Christ.

  • The Gifts of The Holy Spirit

We believe in the contemporary operation of the gifts of the Holy Spirit. We further believe that the Holy Spirit gives gifts as He determines, but until the believer chooses to exercise the gift, it will not be manifested in his life. We also believe that the fruit of the Spirit is the true evidence of the Spirit filled life. We further believe and practice the safeguards and guidelines for the exercise and manifestation of the gifts of the Spirit as outlined in the scriptures. We therefore recognize the necessity of having manifestations of the Spirit appraised and judged by the leadership of the church for the protection of the body and the honor of the Lord Jesus Christ.

  • Church Government

We believe that the local church is to be governed by a plurality of Elders and that Elders are to be men who meet the qualifications given by the Apostle Paul in the New Testament. We believe that the local church is to be an autonomous entity and may link itself with other congregations for the purpose of relationship and combined ministry efforts, but not for the purpose of denominational control.
